Instead of washing four laundry loads in one day, do one or two loads per day. Run washing machines and (dishwashers) with full loads or alternatively, select the proper load size for your washing machine. Washing small loads of laundry with large quantities of water is a waste of both water and energy. When buying a new washing machine look for appliances that display the Energy Star symbol.
